Objective: In this activity the students were given an unknown mixture of two items. Their goal was to determine the number of each item contained in their cup. They were provided with enough information needed to set up a system of equations that could then be solved to determine the number of each item in the cup.

Procedure: Given the total number of items and the type of item, the student was required to determine the average weight of one of each item and the total weight of the mixture. The photos below show the students at work.
